Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the availability of essential basic facilities and service centers should be ensured for the Bharia, Sahariya and Baiga tribal settlements. Instructions have been given to compile information about availability, requirement and supply of basic facilities tehsil wise. He has said that the information should be marked on the map along with their geographical location. To achieve the target, a phased action plan should be prepared and action should be taken within the time limit.
Governor Patel was holding talks with the officials of Tribal Affairs Department and Tribal Cell Raj Bhavan during the review of the Prime Minister’s Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan. On this occasion, Chairman of Tribal Cell Raj Bhavan, Deepak Khandekar, Additional Chief Secretary Tribal Affairs, S.N. Mishra and Principal Secretary to the Governor D.P. Ahuja was also present.
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that effective operation of the campaign should be ensured. It is necessary that the beneficiaries living outside the identified settlements of special backward tribes Bharia, Sahariya and Baiga should also be benefited under the campaign. He said that no eligible family should be deprived of the benefits. Campaign activities should be conducted with sensitivity and spirit of service. He also directed to ensure 100 percent implementation of the Dudharu Pashu Yojana being run for the livelihood of Bharia, Sahariya and Baiga tribal families.
Governor Mangubhai Patel was informed that a survey is being conducted by the Tribal Research Institute to identify the beneficiaries of the special backward tribe group. During the survey, information is being sought in the questionnaire with 45 questions and is being recorded on the Gatishakti portal.
The survey work will be completed soon. The Governor was told that a target has been set to benefit 75 special backward tribal groups of 18 states of the country under the Prime Minister’s Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan Scheme. The scheme will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Central Government and Central and State Ministries.
Under the scheme, focus will be on 11 important activities of 9 departments. Under this, permanent housing, better approach roads, mobile medical units, construction and operation of hostels, electrification of houses without electricity, provision of clean drinking water through pipelines, community water availability, construction and operation of Anganwadis, Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras, construction of multipurpose centres, availability of solar energy on roads and multipurpose centres, installation of zero point three kilo watt solar off-grid, installation of mobile towers, vocational education and skill development are included.
A total budget estimate of Rs 24 thousand crore has been kept by the Central Government for these works, in which the central share will be Rs 15 thousand 366 crore and the state share will be Rs 8 thousand 768 crore. The scheme will be implemented during the year 2023-24 to 2025-26.
