This year, Piyush Babile's prestigious book Gandhi Siasat aur Communalism was published. Mahatma Gandhi's struggle with communal forces has been effectively expressed in this book.
According to the Mahatma Foundation, the Mahatma Award is given at the international level to people who have made special contributions in their respective fields. This award is given to the people who express Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts and his struggle to the world.
Piyush Babele is being given this award for his fearless writing. Ram Sutar is being given the Lifetime Achievement Award. Famous singer Shubha Mudgal will also be given this award in the music category for her special contribution in the field of music. Famous designer Ritu Kumar will be given the Mahatma Award this time for her excellent work in the field of designing.
The foundation has been established by Aditya Birla Group. The credit for instituting this award goes to Amit Sachdeva, popularly known as CSR Man of India. Started in 2016, the award has so far been given to many international personalities.
