A 22-year-old youth went missing after a dispute on Chetak Bridge in Bhopal, his friend claims that an auto driver hit his auto rickshaw and when he asked for compensation for the loss, he called his friends and later he went missing.
The friend of the victim claimed that when he went to report the incident with Govindpura police.
Around 12 in the night on Monday, outside the fair held at BHEL Dussehra ground, Zaid (22) and his friend Mohammad Shahwar, who works as an electric auto rickshaw driver were waiting for the passengers. When no passenger was found for a long time, we went towards Chetak Bridge and while they were talking to passengers an auto driver passed by hitting their electric auto rickshaw.
In about 5 minutes, 3 people arrived in another auto near Chetak Bridge. After some time, two people reached there in an Axis two wheeler. They had sticks and sharp weapons. They started beating Zaid with sticks, somehow they managed to escape and informed Zaid's family. After this they reached Govindpura police station at 1:30 in the night and informed the police about the matter.
Friend Shahwar said that when they reached Govindpura police station at night with family members and told the entire incident to the police.
The police took Shahwar inside alone some policemen tied him and and started beating and asked tell the truth, have you done anything?
Govindpura police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh Tomar said that there was a fight between two auto drivers after a dispute. The case is being investigated. The friend of the missing youth is also a suspect. He is not able to tell the correct incident. A missing person has been registered and a search is underway. It is too early to say kidnapping.
