Army Public School, Mhow celebrated its 39th Annual Sports Day with unprecedented fanfare on <Saturday at the MCTE Ground. Lt. Gen K H Gawas VSM, Commandant MCTE, Col Commandant of Corps of Signal, Senior Patron APS, Mhow and Shilpa Gawas, were the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour of the programme respectively. Maj Gen Sanjay Sajjanhar, Dy Commandant and Patron and Sangeeta Sajjanhar, Brig A Shridhar, Chairman, the Staff Officer Col SPS Bali, Puneet Kaur Bali, SAMC Members, distinguished guests and parents graced the occasion with their auspicious presence. They esteemed guests were accorded a genial and reverential welcome by the Principal Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Vice Principal Sudhir Kumar Choudhary, Head Mistress Rajni Wasan, all the Coordinators and the Head Girl.
This year, the theme of the programme was "Udaan- Swasth Bharat Sashakt Bharat''. The spectacular array of events started with the arrival of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest declared the sports meet open by releasing the balloons. The program begin with the march past led by the Head Boy Daksh Dwivedi followed by the Head Girl Nayana Raj Samyal, the sports Captains Ritesh Singh Rawat and Parul Thakur with great fervour and spirit. The contingents from the four houses along with NCC Air wings, NCC Army wing, Bharat Scouts and Guides displayed the marchpast in a perfect synchronization of coordination with perfection.
Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Principal read the annual report of the school and made the audience aware of school's achievements in academics and co-curricular arenas.14 track events were conducted for the students of Classes I to XII such as bag packing, three-legged race, skipping, spoon lemon race, 80 m race, 100 m ,200 m, 400 m race and 100x4 relay races. The sportsmanship and fervent energy level of the athletes was highly appreciated.
The tiny tots of APSM have displayed their talent and potential in the aerobic dance. Their coordination was a precision. The enthralling dance performance of juniors from classes III to V mesmerized the audience. Yoga display was an epitome of synchronization between the mind and body. The acrobats put up a spectacular display of agility, skill and balance in four different types of pyramid formations.
The students of VI to VIII performed a vibrant showcase of myrand colours with a combination of classical and semi classical dance with instrumental music which was a great exhibit of perfection. The Grand Finale beautifully incorporated the cultures of Gujarat and a sense of patriotism with a fusion depicting the Vijay Diwas.
