The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the draft of the anti-copying ordinance has been approved by him by using the power of deviation and sent to the governor of Uttarakhand. He said that all the recruitment examinations of the future would now be governed by this new law.  Responding to the questions of media persons at the State secretariat, the CM said that the government was planning to bring the anti-copying ordinance in the State cabinet but its meeting was delayed due to the preoccupations of some ministers. He said that the ordinance has now been signed by him and has been sent to the governor for his approval. The CM assured the unemployed that all the examinations now would be transparent and fair and appealed that they should start preparing for the recruitment examinations. Dhami added that the proposed anti-copying act would be the most stringent law in India and it would involve imprisonment of 10 years to those engaged in the cheating. He said that as per the new law, the property of the culprits would be confiscated and the candidates found involved in the copying and engaging in unfair means would be debarred from recruitment examinations for a period of ten years. Without naming the principal opposition party Congress, the CM said that those who have lost the political ground in the country and in the State are trying to use the shoulders of the unemployed. He claimed that their members entered the protest of the unemployed and engaged in violence. The CM said that the administration has been asked to identify these elements and action would be taken on them.

He said that the government wants to protect the interests of the students. “We immediately cancelled the examinations where irregularities were found and declared new dates. We made arrangements of free travel for the candidates for giving the examinations and ensured that no fee is charged for the examinations. I want to assure the students that all examinations would be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The students should not believe in the rumours,’’ he said.
