AIIMS Bhopal conducted an orientation program for newly admitted MD/MS and DM/MCh postgraduate students on Friday, 2023.
The program was inaugurated by AIIMS President Dr. Sunil Malik and Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh. Dr. Monika Malik, a Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission member, delivered a guest lecture on "Consumer Protection Act for Doctors."
Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh warmly welcomed the PG students, emphasizing the importance of pursuing specialty and super-specialty courses at AIIMS Bhopal. He encouraged students to dream big, work hard, and find innovative solutions to challenges in the medical field.
Dr. Sunil Malik stressed the significance of ethical conduct, effective communication, and compassion in the medical profession. He reminded students of their duty toward society, especially economically disadvantaged patients. The lecture by Dr. Monika Malik covered the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and its relevance to doctors, emphasizing ethical practice, communication, and record-keeping. An interactive Q&A session followed the lecture.
The orientation program, organized by the Centre of Medical Education Technology (CMET) AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of its chairman, Professor (Dr.) Rehan Ul Haq, aimed to guide PG students in various aspects of their training, including medical and medicolegal documentation, professional ethics, and research. The program received positive feedback from participants.
