3 women hockey players of Jharkhand selected for Asian Games

The 18-member Indian women's hockey team was announced for the 19th Asian Games. Three players from Jharkhand, Nikki Pradhan, Salima Tete and Sangeeta Kumari, have also been selected in this team.

All three players are regular members of the Indian team. Hockey India organized a special program in Bangalore and announced the team in the presence of all the officials and family members of the players. Hockey India General Secretary, Bholanath Singh welcomed all the players of Jharkhand in Bangalore.

On this occasion, Singh said that the biggest contribution, dedication and sacrifice in making any player is of their parents, but they are respected only in exceptions.” That's why Hockey India has started saying that the parents of the players should also be respected. That's why we have invited the parents of the players on this big occasion,” he added.

The 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8. Included in the 18-member Indian team, Nikki Pradhan is a resident of Hesal in Khunti district, Salima Tete is a resident of Barkichhapar in Sadar block  of Simdega district while Sangeeta Kumari is a resident of Karagaguddi in Kersai block of Simdega district also.
