Gross negligence of Govindpura police has led to the loss of life of a 22-year-old youth whose body was recovered near GBM school in Govindpura.
The body of a missing auto rickshaw driver who was reportedly abducted after a fight at Chetak Bridge has been found near GBM school in Govindpura, injury marks are found at many places on his body.
The police had registered a missing complaint. But, in the footage found, some people are seen taking the young man in an auto. The family members of the youth have alleged that he was murdered after kidnapping.
On Wednesday morning, information was received that a body was lying in the bushes behind GBM School near Shukrara Market of Govindpura. The dead body has been recovered and sent for postmortem.
The deceased is identified as Zaid Uddin, a youth missing for two days. Police have registered a case of murder against unknown accused.
The young man was an e-rickshaw driver. On the day he was kidnapped, his rickshaw was hit by another auto driver. There was a dispute between both the parties regarding the loss. After which Zaid was beaten and kidnapped.
Fazal Uddin, father of the deceased, said that Zaid Uddin (22) was my elder son. He used to drive an e-rickshaw. Around 12 on Monday night, Zaid was waiting for a ride with his friend Mohammad Shahwar, who drives an electric auto, outside the fair going on at BHEL Dussehra ground.
When they did not get any ride for a long time, they went towards Chetak Bridge and got a passenger, while he was talking to the passenger, an auto driver passed by hitting his e-rickshaw . The auto rickshaw driver misbehaved with both of them and later with around half a dozen friends arrived, assaulted and kidnapped.
Today at 7 am, Govindpura police informed the family that a body had been found in the bushes behind GBM School and when the family reached the deceased was identified as Zaid.
Govindpura police and crime branch interrogated Zaid's friend who was with him at the time of accident and only came to action after CCTV footage revealed that the deceased was kidnapped.
