G Udaygiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest place in the State on Thursday night recording a minimum temperature of 4.6 degree Celsius.
With no respite from the cold wave, at least 16 places registered temperature below10 degree. Those places were Semiliguda 5.6 degree, Phulbani 6 degree, Kirei 7.1 degree, Koraput 7.7 degree, Keonjhar 7.8 degree, Daringibadi 8 degree, Angul 8.6 degree, Bhawanipatna 8.6 degree, Rourkela 8.7 degree, Sundargarh 9 degree, Nabarangpur 9 degree, Sonepur 9.3 degree, Jharsuguda 9.4 degree, Ranital 9.4 degree and Chipilima 9.8 degree.
Bhubaneswar recorded 12.4 degree.
The Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here predicted dense fog in some districts on Saturday.
However, a slight rise in temperature is expected from Saturday onwards. As per the IMD, the temperature is likely to rise by 2 to3 degree Celsius in subsequent two to three days over the districts of the State.
