The year 2023 was full of achievements for Lohardaga Police. Great success has been achieved in Naxal eradication, Arms Act, NDPS Act, murder case investigation, robbery case investigation, robbery case investigation, Excise Act etc. Besides, Lohardaga Police also achieved great success on the front of crime control, investigation of cases, technical development and strengthening. Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman told journalists that from January 1, 2023 to December 20, 2023, 105 people have been arrested in Lohardaga district under various cases and acts, out of which 27 people have been arrested in most murder cases.
He said that 24 cases related to murder were registered in Lohardaga district, in which 27 accused have been arrested. Whereas only 01 cases related to robbery were registered, in which 07 accused have been arrested. 09 cases related to robbery were registered, in which 12 accused were arrested. Besides, 03 country made pistols and looted items were also recovered from the accused. This year, a total of 04 cases were registered under the NDPS Act in the district, in which 12 accused have been arrested. Police Captain Haris Bin Zaman said that under the NDPS Act, opium cultivation in 01 acre of land was destroyed. Not only this, cash worth Rs 2,41,440 was also recovered from people involved in drug trade.
Besides, a huge quantity of hashish, ganja and other drug related materials have also been recovered. Similarly, 04 cases were registered under the Excise Act, in which not only 05 accused were arrested, but a huge quantity of illegal country and foreign liquor was also recovered. The police captain said that a total of 10 cases were registered in various Naxalite incidents in Lohardaga district. In these ten cases, not only 17 people were arrested, but 09 weapons and 95 live cartridges were also recovered.
The SP told that Kuleshwar Kumar Yadav alias Ditol Yadav, a hardcore Naxalite of the banned militant organization TPC, who was absconding for years, was arrested from Palamu in a special raid operation and sent to jail. In Lohardaga district, 15 cases were registered under the Arms Act, in which 19 people were arrested and 12 weapons were also recovered. Police Captain Shri Zaman said that 02 cases were registered under the Explosive Substances Act, in which 09 accused were arrested. A huge quantity of explosive material was recovered at the behest of the accused. It is noteworthy that a raid was conducted by the police team in Rampur village of Sadar police station area. After this, 1079 pieces of detonators, 2294 pieces of safety fuse, 16.5 kg of ammonium nitrate, 224 pieces of power gel used in explosives and other items were recovered from the houses of Imtiaz Ansari, Shamshad Ansari, Safiullah Ansari and Arif Ansari of the Village.
