‘Sankalp Saptah’ kicks off

Thursday, 05 October 2023 | PNS | Lucknow

In an attempt to give impetus to government schemes in aspirational development blocks, the Yogi government kicked off a unique week-long initiative, ‘Sankalp Saptah’  in 68 blocks of 42 districts of Uttar Pradesh on October 3.

The ‘Sankalp Saptah Mela’ has seen widespread public participation  with fairs being organised in all designated 68 blocks.

Mega health camps were conducted in all the government health centres, medical units and health wellness centres of the aspirational blocks selected by NITI Aayog on the opening day of Sankalp Saptah Mela.

These camps included prenatal check-ups for pregnant women, identification of high-risk pregnancies and vaccinations. Additionally, screening for non-communicable diseases, anemia tests, tuberculosis screening, honouring of Nikshay Mitras and the recognition of TB champions were also carried out.

A total of 159,458 people participated in the fairs organised at 1,605 Health Wellness Centres (HWC) and Sub Centres (SC), while 59,255 people benefited from the fairs held at 294 PHCs and CHCs on the first day of the event.

The highest number of 43 HWCs and SCs were organised in Pilibhit’s Puranpur block, with the participation of 6,626 people.

‘Sankalp Saptah’ will run till October 9 and each day of the event will have a different theme, dedicated to the country.

Moreover, on October 10 evaluation will be conducted to see what activities have been carried out for citizens in which block and under which theme and whether they have benefited from them or not.
