Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak on Monday alleged a massive scam by the State Government.
Pattanayak said the government has allocated Rs 15,000 crore for the development of power sector in the State. Earlier, Rs 20,000 crore was sanctioned for development of the sector, but despite the Congress’ repeated demand, the government has not revealed how the money was spent.
From this, it can be ascertained that there has been a scam worth crores and who are involved. The Rs 15,000 crore is meant only to be embezzled. If the government doesn’t give an account of the Rs 20,000-crore funds, the Congress would soon embark on an agitation, said Pattanayak.
Party leader Bijay Patnaik said the government has no intention to solve the problems of power consumers.
PCC Manifesto Committee chairman Panchanan Kanungo demanded an accounting audit and power audit by the CAG, Among others, PCC Media Cell chairman Ganeshwar Behera was present.
