‘Odisha country’s most corrupt State’

Friday, 07 July 2023 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

All the corrupt officials and businessmen who are involved in scams have good relations with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). By uttering the CMO, people are assuming that it means Corruption Mobilisation Office, alleged the BJP on Thursday.

Businessman Jagdish Nayak, from whom Rs 100-crore black money was detected during IT raids, has personal relations with the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister had taken him to Japan and attended his business function, said BJP State spokesperson Anil Biswal.

Odisha has become the most corrupt State of India. According to the NCRB data, in 2019 as many 88 disproportionate assets cases were detected. In 2020, it was 93 and in 2021 it was 93. The State is number one in accumulation of disproportionate assets in the country. The charge-sheet in corruption cases is very negligible, said Biswal.
