‘Bokaro district has all potential to become development model in country’

Monday, 18 December 2023 | R Sharma | Bokaro

The Government of India, with participation of States and Union Territories, is actively engaged in the mission of saturation through its flagship schemes for providing basic amenities and making required services accessible to all targeted and eligible beneficiaries. Thus with this aim, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes named "Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" flagged off  on November 15 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Jharkhand’s Khunti district ensuring that the government’s welfare measures reach the last intended beneficiaries.

In the same episode as part of the ‘Vikasit Bharat’ initiative, officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting visited Bokaro and Ramgarh. After reviewing things pertaining to scheme at Bokaro Senior officer Shambhu Nath Choudhary, Additional Director General (ADG) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting categorically said “Jharkhand’s Bokaro could become a model district of development for the country, where we found better implementation of central schemes as well as distribution.”

Notably ADG Choudhary evaluated the distribution of benefits under welfare schemes including sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, reliable healthcare and clean drinking water. Further ADG added “We stayed in Bokaro for over eight hours and saw the developmental activities in Peterwar, Kasmar and Gomia blocks where 100 acres of barren land in Peterwar is being turned into agri-farming with mango, guava trees and other vegetable crops grown by women self-help groups and Bokaro has 92 ‘Amrit Sarovars’ (water bodies) against the Centre’s requirement of 75 such sarovars in each district”. This remarks exemplify Dissemination of information and generating awareness about Vikasit Bharat’ schemes in true sense.

As a whole this kind of comments will surely boost Bokaro district administration lead by DC Kuldeep Chaudhary in sync with DDC Kirtishree G and other senior officers exemplifying True Team work spirit in ensuring “Reaching the unreached - reach out to the vulnerable who are eligible under various schemes but have not availed benefit” which is also the main objective of Vikasit Bharat scheme.
