A dozen of “Alumni Cells” have been created in different colleges across the State and more are to be created in coming days. The cell ensures timely execution of alumni meets, directly assists and helps out ‘Mo College’ coordinators to carry out different alumni events while making sure to strengthen the alumni network.
The pilot colleges where the cell has been created are Rajdhani College, Maharishi Women’s Degree College, Kamala Nehru Degree College and Debaray Degree College in Khordha district, Fakir Mohan Autonomous College, Baleswar, Shailabala Women’s Autonomous College, Cuttack, Government Women’s Degree College, Sundargarh, Balangi Degree Mahavidyalaya, Sunahat, Baleswar, Atal Bihari Degree College, Basudevpur, Bhadrak, Laxmikant Degree College, Bangriposi, Mayurbhanj, Khunta Degree Mahavidyalaya, Khunta, Mayurbhanj and Patitapaban Degree Mahavidyalaya, Sainkul, Keonjhar.
“Alumni Cell” is a brilliant initiative of the Odisha Government. Through this, faculties, organisations and alumni networks will get along even better. This can fetch us far in terms of overall development of the institution.’’ Said Pankaj Biswal, president of Alumni association, Balangi Degree Mahavidyalaya during alumni cell meeting.
Another member, Subash Swain said, “Inspirations from the past can lead us to the future. Just like ’Mo School’, ‘Mo College’ is an absolutely innovative step of the Odisha Government.” Likewise, another ‘Alumni Cell’ meeting was held in Atal Bihari College of Bhadrak where more than 30 members and about 20 staff members were present. In coming days, more such cells in different colleges will be created with a universal aim to organise different social activities such as blood donation camps, plantation drives, webinars/seminars, and inter-college sport competitions and many more under aegis of ‘’Mo College’’ which can turn revolutionary in terms of alumni and alma mater connections.
