As many as 41 out of 265 cases were disposed of on the spot on Thana Samadhan Diwas organised at all 18 police stations in the district on Saturday. District Magistrate Divya Mittal (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Kumar Mishra heard the problems of the aggrieved at Padari police station and four cases out of 14 were disposed of on the spot. At Kotwali City police station where ADM (Finance and Revenue) Shiv Pratap Shukla was present no case was received. At Halia police station sub-divisional magistrate SDM (Lalganj) Bharat Lal Saroj heard the problems of the people. Seven cases out of 21 were disposed of. On the day the SDM was accompanied by station house officer (SHO) Vishnu Prabha Singh, chakbandi lekhpal Rahul and others. At Chilh police station Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Srikant Prajapati heard the problem of an aggrieved and the case was handed over to the team with directions to dispose it of without inordinate delay. At Jigna police station CO Lalganj Manjari Rao heard the problems of aggrieved persons and disposed of three cases out of 33. For the remaining matters the teams were formed for disposing them of on merit. At Adalhaat police station tehsildar Chunar Shakti Prakash Singh and at Rajgarh police station tehsildar Madihan SK Yadav heard the problems of complainants.
COUPLES REUNITE: Five couples reunited under Project Milan programme on Sunday.
At Police Lines a family counselling centre is working in which the cases of family disputes are being settled through counselling. At the centre the counsellors hold meetings of couples who are living separately due to misunderstandings.
The counsellors succeeded convincing five couples to live together and extended best wishes for their bright future. The entire process was conducted in the presence of the incharge of the centre sub-inspector Shashi Tiwari, constable Sapna, counsellors Parwati Pandey, Dr Krishna Singh, Krishna Kumar Srivastava and others.
installation ceremony: The installation ceremony of Rotary Club Mirzapur Gaurav was held on Saturday. MLC Shyam Narain Singh 'Vineet Singh’, who was the chief guest, said lighting of lamp is not merely a formality to start any good work. He said that we can serve the humanity only by emulating the spirit of the lamp.
He exhorted the club members to serve the needy with a magnanimous spirit and show the path to the next generation. The chief guest was welcomed by the new president of club Raj Bahadur Singh and the vote of thanks was proposed by past president Ravi Katare. The programme was conducted by Raman Pahwa.
