New Mirzapur DM takes charge

New District Magistrate (DM) of the district Priyanka Niranjan took the charge of office on Saturday evening. After coming to the district she visited Vindhyavasini temple and paid obeisance to the goddess amidst the chanting of the Vedic shlokas. She met MLA (City) Ratnakar Mishra at his residence as a courtesy call. An IAS officer of 2011 batch she had worked as the CDO in the district about three years ago.

During a brief interaction with the media she said it was the grace of the goddess that she got the opportunity to serve the district for the second time and she will do her best for the betterment of the people. She said proper implementation of government schemes was her top priority and the target will be to facilitate the deprived class.

PEACE COMMITTEE MEETING: In view of the upcoming festivals a meeting of peace committee was held at Katra Kotwali police station on Saturday. Addressing it Circle Officer (CO/City) Parmanand Kushwaha sought suggestions from the people and assured that they will be considered sincerely. SHO Katra Kotwali Venkatesh Tiwari apprised the CO about the arrangements and assured that there is no problem in the area so far. The CO appealed to the gathering to inform the police in case of any problem. The meeting was attended by Sonavar Khan and others.

ARRESTED:  The Jigna police arrested an accused of theft on Saturday. On November 27 last year secretary Cooperative Committee, Jigna, Ram Bihari Singh, had lodged a case at the police station Jigna about the theft at the centre. The police succeeded in arresting three accused and recovering most of the stolen materials. Another accused whose name had come to light was remaining at large. New SO Ravi Kant Mishra directed the investigating officer to nab the accused and he was arrested on Saturday and sent to jail. The accused was identified as Lavlesh Yadav of Khaira village under Jigna police station.

caught: Two human traffickers were caught by the RPF along with 10 minor boys on Saturday. The RPF during routine checking of the train no. 12487 Seemanchal Express found 10 minor boys suspicious in the D compartment of general bogie. After interrogation the boys told about the persons who were taking them to Firozabad to work in a bangle factory. The RPF took two persons identified Saddam Husain of Kayani village and Khursheed Anwar of Bhamara Pashchim Tola, both under Kasba police station, Purnia district, Bihar, into custody. The RPF handed over the traffickers along with boys to GRP for completing the legal formalities.
