Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company of the Government of India, Bhola Singh visited the Bina project on Thursday. During his visit, the CMD took stock of the operation, production, dispatch and overload removal etc of Bina mine area, haul road, dragline and other machines and gave appropriate guidelines to the project officials for the production keeping in mind the productivity and safety.
On the occasion, Singh also met the workers deployed in the mine and boosted their morale to make an important contribution to the energy security of the country. General Manager (Excavation) Bhartendu Kumar from NCL Headquarters, Technical Secretary of CMD NCL Deepak Saxena, GM of Bina Project Inderjit Singh and his team were also present.
In 2023–24, NCL’s Bina project has been given a target of more than 10 million tonnes of coal production and dispatch, out of which till now the project has performed well, producing 5.19 million tonnes of coal and dispatching 5.17 million tonnes of coal.
Along with this, in the removal of overload, the project has so far removed 26.49 million cubic metres of overload against the target of 50 million cubic metres this year so far.
