The Nava Kerala Sadass (election campaign of the CPI-M sponsored by the Government of Kerala) led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and was accompanied by his council of ministers including the latter’s son-in-law Muhammed Riyaz and health minister Veena George culminated at the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram late Saturday evening.
The last day of the Sadass saw the CPI-M and police beating up Congress leaders all over Thiruvananthapuram who were demonstrating against police highhandedness across the State during the high profile Sadass which commenced the journey in the second week of November. Vijayan and his cabinet colleagues traveled across the state greeting people in all the 140 assembly constituencies in the State which send 20 representatives to the Lok Sabha.
“This is the end of a major disaster which struck the people of Kerala the day it was launched from Manjeswaram in Kasaragod,” said K Muraleedharan, MP and one of the aspirants for the Chief Minister’s post in the eventuality of a Congress win in the 2026 Assembly Election.
Interestingly, the Congress and CPI-M members of parliament were seen rubbing shoulders and hugging each other in Friday’s protest march at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the “autocratic, dictatorial” BJP regime at the Center. The CPI-M comrades are hand in glove with the Congress in its bid to defeat Narendra Modi Government in the upcoming Lok Sabha elecgion.
Many Congress MPs including K Sudhakaran and some of the party MLAs suffered minor injuries when the cops and CPI-M activists lunched physical assaults on the demonstrators.
Sudhakaran, who complained of body pain was removed to a hospital for first aid, described Vijayan as the most hated chief minister Kerala has seen in its history. “Vijayan is worse than Adolf Hitler and has to be subjected to prosecution for the cruel manhunt ordered by him,” said Sudhakaran.
The police and CPI-M activists were seen targeting the Congress workers with water canon. Jeby Mather MP and chief of Mahila Congress Kerala unit was seen weeping following the police assaults on her.
Vijayan, in his interaction with the media said that there were many conspirators and criminals masquerading as journalists. “We have solid proof of the illegal relations between the Congress criminals and these fake journalists. Hence the police has filed criminal cases against them,” said Karana Bhoothan, as the chief minister prefers to be addressed.
