Young shoots of bamboo are locally called Karil and stored shoots are called Shandhna. Also there is famous cuisine Dhuska, a savoury dish, fried deeply and taken as a snack with sauce and chutney. Anarsa is a sweet dish made out of sugar or jaggery. Special emphasis was laid on taking special care of cleanliness.
