Woman and granddaughter found murdered in Meerut

In a gruesome double-murder, a woman and her minor granddaughter were found murdered inside their home in Meerut.

The accused used a knife to end the lives of the victims by slitting their throats.

As soon as the police received the information, they reached the spot and started the investigation.

The incident took place in D Block of Nauchandi area in Meerut where Kaushal Sirohi, 65, and her granddaughter Tamanna, 12, were brutally killed. Kasuhal was wife of retired head constable Ratan Singh, who reportedly died of cancer just two months back.

The double-murder came to light when a domestic servant came on Monday morning and found the gates open. As he went inside, he was shocked to find the bodies and blood splattered all over.

The police suspect that someone entered the house at night. However, no clue was found yet. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.

Meerut’s Senior Superintendent of police Rohit Sajwan, said a forensic team has examined the scene of crime.

Meanwhile, in a land related dispute in Gonda, the cousin and their aides attacked a home guard jawan with a sharp weapon and killed him. The home guard’s son, brother and brother's wife were also seriously injured in the attack.

The police reached the spot after about two hours after getting information of the sensational incident. After inspecting the spot, ASP Shivraj directed the police to arrest the accused after taking information about the case.

A special operation group (SOG) has also been deployed to help local police in the arrest.

On the complaint of the wife of the slain home guard, a case has been registered against the accused.

Reports said that Arun Prasad Mishra (54) and his brother Diwakar Prasad Mishra (52), residents of Majre Thakurdin Purwa of Thadkki Patti village of Dehat Kotwali, are home guards. When Arun returned from duty on Sunday, his son Himanshu (13) informed him that their kin Nakched, Ram Pratap, Mukesh and others of the village had uprooted the pillars in their farm house. On this, Arun immediately left for the field. Then Arun's brother Diwakar also came from duty and he also went to the field.

According to Arun's sister Kamlesh Kumari, Nakched, Ram Pratap, Mukesh and others, ambushed Arun, Diwakar, Himanshu and Diwakar's wife Manoja (45) and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons in which they were seriously injured. All were taken to the district hospital where Arun died during treatment.
