The Chhattisgarh State Finance Commission on Monday launched a web portal and a mobile app to simplify the process of data collection from gram panchayats.
The portal and app were launched at the conference hall of Jashpur Jila Panchayat in the presence of MLA Jashpur Vinay Bhagat. Former Chief Secretary Serjius Minj presided over the programme.
The State Finance Commission is constituted every five years to strengthen the economic condition of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Local Urban Bodies.
In order to make recommendations based on sufficient data and to get the required information from Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies, the Commission has developed the web portal SFC& Info and the mobile app.
Minj said the portal and app would make it convenient to access the information of each panchayat online. Based on the information received from 11,664 panchayats in the state, a database would be compiled to help at multiple levels.
MLA Bhagat thanked the Chairman of the State Finance Commission for launching the portal for the remote areas like Jashpur.
He said the data compiled through the portal would become the basis of the commission’s recommendations for the development of panchayats.
