Myriad of activities marked the observance of the Water Conservation Month-2022 at Bolani Ores Mines (BOM) of Odisha Group of Mines (OGM) belonging to SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).
Notably, the OGM joined the rest of the sister units in SAIL in observing the event in September.
An array of programme was organised to create awareness on the importance of water conservation for sustainable future. It included display of banners on the theme of ‘Water Conservation Month’ at strategic locations of BOM, organisation of quiz and drawing competitions on the theme at DAV Public School, DAV Bolani School and Saraswati Sishu Vidhya Mandir of BOM.
A special plantation drive was organised in the leasehold area of Bolani Ores Mines and around 1,500 saplings were planted covering over 1 hectare area. Besides, digging of staggered trenches and erecting loose boulder gully plugs in and around plantation sites were also carried out. The observance of the month concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a special plantation drive.
