Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested two persons for trying to sell a leopard skin valued at Rs 5 lakh in Gariaband district.
The arrested were identified as Peeluram Thakur (28) and Agnuram Thakur (21), both from Gariaband district, Gariaband Superintendent of Police J.R. Thakur told The Pioneer.
They were intercepted near a dam while heading to Kharkhara village to sell the skin.
They tried to escape on their motorcycle after spotting the police but were caught, the officer added.
The skin of a full grown leopard, which was kept in a white plastic gunny bag, was seized from them.
