Two girls killed in road accident at Anna Nagar

Two girls died in a road accident after their bike was hit by a speeding loading auto rickshaw near Anna Nagar while on their way to celebrate birthday of elder sister of one of the girls at Kerwa Dam.

The deceased were identified as Keerti Yadav (16) and Riya Kadere (14) who were on their way to celebrate Keerti’s elder sister Preeti.

Injured were rushed to a hospital where the two were declared dead. Police said that the girls near Lambakheda where one of them was declared dead while the other died on the spot.

Keerti was going to Kerwa Dam with friends to celebrate her sister Preeti's birthday. There were six friends including Kirti, Preeti, Riya on three vehicles. Keerti and Riya were on the same two-wheeler. Then the loading vehicle hit Keerti-Riya's car from behind and the wheel passed over them.

The two were class 9 student of the same school.

Police said that Keerti Yadav was resident of Subhash Colony Ashoka Garden and Riya Kadere resident Pragati Nagar Ashoka Garden. The loading auto rickshaw bearing registration number MP04GA4846 was seized while search for driver has started by Govindpura police.

The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and started further investigation. The commuters and locals who informed the police and on the receipt of the information police team rushed to the spot and started investigation.
