Mystery shrouded the death of Odia television actress Rashmirekha Ojha, whose body was found hanging in her rented house at Gadasahi under the Nayapalli police station in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

Getting information from the landlord, a police team reached the spot and broke open the door of the room in which the actress was found dead.

A suicide note recovered from the spot was sent for forensic examination.

In the suicide note, the actress didn’t anyone responsible for her death. But what raised suspicions was it was written that nobody should be punished for her death.  The police handed over Rashmirekha's body to her family members after the postmortem.

Police sources said Rashmirekha, who was a resident of from Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur district, was living in the rented house with her male friend Santosh Patra for one and half months.

However, Santosh, who is working with a financial company moved out a few days back and started living separately.

The police are investigating the case from all angles and are expected to question Santosh, who is said to have gone to Bengaluru for some work.  

Meanwhile, the deceased’s father, who has lodged an FIR with the police, blamed Santosh for Rashmirekhas’s death and termed him the ‘murderer.’

"Their landlord said Santosh Patra and Rashmi were living as husband-wife. We had no clue about her marriage. I have also no idea who has written that suicide note. If both are married, then Santosh is the murderer. A probe should be launched and he should be punished severely," said Rashimrekha’s father.

City DCP Prateek Singh said Investigations are ongoing. The IO of the case has spoke to Santosh over the phone. He is on the way to Odisha. After coming here he would be questioned and further steps would be taken.
