As directed by the Orissa High Court, Brahmapur’s estranged couple Tapaswini Dash and her doctor-husband Sumit Sahu appeared before a designated reconciliation centre of the court here on Saturday.
Tapaswini, who has been fighting the legal battle to save her marriage, reached the mediation centre first along with her lawyer. Later, her husband Sumit arrived at the centre for counselling.
The mediation officer at the centre held discussion with the couple in order to understand the differences between them and resolve the issues mutually. If necessary, the court may again ask the couple to appear before for mediation.
Earlier in March, the High Court had directed the couple to go to a house taken on rent at Aska and videograph the house to ascertain whether it was worth living. The court also directed Sumit to inform in an affidavit the status of his Government quarters.
The court has directed Sumit to pay Tapaswini Rs 10,000 towards monthly maintenance.
The next hearing of the case has been listed on April 13.
