State employees allowed 30-day special Covid leave

Wednesday, 20 April 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

In a big relief for the state employees, the Uttar Pradesh government announced a special 30-day casual leave for those infected with COVID-19. The government also issued an order in this regard.

The UP government orders mention that this casual leave can be taken by any employee, at any time, provided they are down with COVID-19.

Further, the government mentioned that this special leave would be available for a maximum period of one month. Because of these new instructions by the UP government, no employee will be denied the opportunity of special leave due to COVID anymore.

However, the UP government is not the first one to have issued such orders, giving benefits to people infected with COVID-19. In the past, during the second and third waves of Covid, several state governments allowed their employees to go on special leave. The rules largely varied but the aim was to give maximum benefit to people.
