Special campaign against tobacco-gutkha soon in MP

A campaign against tobacco-gutkha will also be launched in Madhya Pradesh soon. State Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra gave this information in a media interaction on Wednesday. He said that the state government is strict against those involved in illegal drug trade. All hookah lounges in the state have been closed.

It is worth mentioning that after the warning of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a massive campaign has been launched against illegal drug trade in Madhya Pradesh.

In the ongoing de-addiction campaign across the state, 42660 liters of illicit liquor has been seized in the last three days. Meanwhile, 382 people have been made accused in the Narcotics (NDPS) Act, setting up 360 cases.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to take action by running a campaign against those doing illegal drug business in the state. Since October 8, 5764 cases of illicit liquor have been established and 5790 people have been made accused.

Action has been taken against 1178 people who consume alcohol in public places.

In the same period, a case has been registered against 606 people driving under the influence of alcohol. Rewa Police has seized 25 quintals of Mahua Lahan from illegal drug dealers. Here the police have also caught seven thousand vials of cough syrup.
