Railway Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi has given this opportunity to Ranchi Railway Division (RRD) to organize 43rd All India Women's Railway Hockey Championship. RRD has the good fortune to organize this championship again after five years.
This championship will be organized by South Eastern Railway (ECR) Sports Association Ranchi from 20 December 2022 to 26 December 2022 at Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Hatia.
Prior to this, this championship has been successfully organized by RRD in the years 2004, 2010, 2012 and 2017-18. This year, a total of 08 teams from various Zonal Railways and units of the entire Indian Railways are participating in the competition. Which are divided into 2 groups.
In Pool A the team are from Northern Railway (NR), North Central Railway (NCR), East Central Railway (ECR) and South Eastern Railway (SER). In Pool B the team are from Central Railway (CR), Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, North Eastern Railway (NER) and Western Railway
A total of 16 matches including semi-finals and finals will be played after the league matches during the competition.
Most of the players of Rio Olympics 2016 and Tokyo Olympics 2020 will represent their respective Zonal Railway teams in this year's competition. In this competition Vandana Kataria (CR), Arjuna Awardee, Vandana Kataria (CR), Arjuna Awardee, Monika (CR) and other 15 Olympians Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam (CR), Gurjit Kaur (NCR), Navneet Kaur (WR) ), Rajni Etimarpu (CR), Nikki Pradhan (SER), Neha Goyal (NR), Nisha Warsi (NCR), Salima Tete (SER), Reena Khokhar (RCF), Lalrem Siyami (RCF), Najot Kaur (RCF), Renuka Yadav (CR), Preeti Dubey (CR) and Fely (CR) are expected to attend.
is a matter of pride for RRD that Pradhan has represented the Country in Rio Olympics 2016, Tokyo Olympics 2020 and Commonwealth Games 2022, Tete Tokyo Olympic 2020 and Commonwealth Games 2022 and Kumari has represented in Commonwealth Games 2022. All these three players of Mandal are currently members of the Indian women's hockey team.
RRD is always striving to promote sports and sportspersons, from the year 2019 till now, 19 players of different sports have been appointed in different departments of the division.
, including 9 players of women's hockey, 2 players of women's archery, 4 players of men's hockey, 2 players of men's volley ball and 1 player of men's cricket are included. Along with this, the players have been promoted for their good performance in sports.
