Often, passengers have to buy water at expensive prices while traveling in the train, but now at Jabalpur and other railway stations of the division, passengers will get cheap drinking water. Jabalpur Railway Division is going to install more than 50 water vending machines at 12 railway stations including Jabalpur.

The operation and maintenance of these machines will not be done by IRCTC but by the Railways itself. The responsibility of running these units will be given to private institutions, which is being prepared by the commercial department of the board. The division will install these machines at Jabalpur, Katni, Katni South, Murwara, Damoh, Sagar, Maihar, Satna, Rewa, Narsinghpur, Pipariya, Gadarwara stations.

This machine has been installed at many other stations of Madhya Pradesh and these machines are being installed in nearby railway stations including Jabalpur. However, instead of IRCTC, Jabalpur division itself is going to install water vending machines.

The Board has also purchased more than 50 water vending machines. Their operations will be given to private companies. From these machines, half a liter to five liters of water will be given, which will be around Rs 2 to Rs 20 and 30. It is worth noting that during the long journey in the train, passengers often face the problem of drinking water and have to buy expensive water for drinking, but now the passengers will get water at a very low cost.
