The Kalinga Baliyatra Mahotsav preparations here have reached the final stage. The fest will be held from November 7 to 14.
Under the supervision of District Magistrate and Chairman of Kalinga Baliyatra Committee (KBC) Parul Patwari, Paradip Additional District Magistrate cum vice chairman of KBC Dr Kanhu Charan Dhir, Chairman, Paradip Municipality Basant Biswal and other committee members were seen making extensive arrangements for the festival.
This year, a total of 600 stalls including 200 stalls of Pallishree Mela, are being constructed. Apart from this, all the famous cultural troops and artists of Odisha are making arrangements to perform their programmes on a modern stage which is under construction.
For the first time life guards and security personnel will be deployed for public safety on the beach. Along with this, a toilet has been arranged near the stage for the guests, while a mobile toilet has been installed by the municipality for the public.
Similarly, the KBC has proposed to insure general public against any mishaps in the festival. In addition, the police administration will depute seven platoons of police force and 20 senior police officers to maintain law and order during the eight-day-long festival, informed by Paradip ASP Nimain Charan Sethy.
