Hundreds of youths of nine different blocks of the district got employment through a district level job fair (Nijukti Mela) held at Rengali and Rairakhol block headquarters.
A good number of local industries and from across the State including few commercial institutions like LIC and banks, took part in the fair to recruit job aspirants since the young mass now prefers jobs to business.
The prominent among the employers were LIC, JSW BSPL, Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd, Med Plus, Sahi Exports, AVR Consultancy and Project, CIPET among others. While 872 candidates got direct employment, 340 were selected as trainees.
At the outset, the ADM (Revenue) UK Raj narrated the objectives of the Mela where local BDOs, officials of the district employment exchange and elected representatives were present. “While some got direct employment, others have been selected as trainees,” informed the ADM UK Raj.
After successful completion of the training, they will also be provided permanent employment, he added.
