Madhya Pradesh won 12 medals in the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 by performing brilliantly in the Malkhamb game. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia has also congratulated on this achievement.
Let us inform you that for the first time in Khelo India Youth Games, Malkhamb has been included and MP has become champion for the first time. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the overall champion in the Khelo India Youth Games. They won a total of 12 medals including 5 gold medals.
Pankaj Gargma, an 18-year-old young player from Khachrod, Ujjain, won 3 out of 5 gold medals. He is the first player from the state, who has won three gold in a day in Khelo India. Pankaj scored 9.10 out of 10 in all the three poles, ropes and overall.
In the final of Pole Malkhamb in Khelo India Youth Games, Harshita Kandkar of Madhya Pradesh won gold while Siddhi Gupta of MP won silver medal. In Rope Malkhamb, Harshita shared the third position with Sarita Payam of Chhattisgarh. Among the boys, Indrajit Nagar and Pranav Kori were jointly second in Pol Malkhamb along with Monu Netam of Chhattisgarh. Pankaj Gargma secured the top position for Rope Malkhamb, followed by Nagar at the second position. For the Hanging Malkhamb, Gargma again won the gold by finishing on top.
Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia has also congratulated on this achievement of Madhya Pradesh. She tweeted her congratulated message on the amazing performance in Malkhamb.
She also thanked Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for this, who always supported this traditional game and made it a state sport in 2005.
