The Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) on Thursday signed an MoU making the FICCI as the National Industry Partner for the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022, scheduled from November 30 to December 4.
The MoU signing ceremony was presided over by State Minister for Industries, MSME & Energy Pratap Keshari Deb and attended by State Industries Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma and FICCI Director General Arun Chawla.
Sharma said the two previous Make in Odisha events have already had a tremendous impact by making Odisha a preferred investment destination.
Minister Deb said, “This is going to be the third edition of the Make in Odisha Conclave. The first MIO in 2016 witnessed an overwhelming response receiving over Rs 2 lakh crore worth of investment intent. In the second edition, it was over Rs 4 lakh crore of investment intent. The goal of this year’s conclave is to surpass all the expectations and, more importantly, to firmly put Odisha on the global map.”
He said, “Odisha has 96% of India's chromite reserves, 92% nickel reserves, 53% bauxite, 45% manganese, 35% iron ore and 23% coal reserves. This has made Odisha the largest producer of steel, stainless steel, ferroalloys, alumina, and aluminium in India.”
