After waiting for long 53 years, the oldest Laxminarayan College in Jharsuguda finally got its own land and building,
Health and Family Welfare Minister and local MLA Naba Kisore Das handed over the permanent land records to the college authorities recently. He inaugurated a boys hostel building built under World Bank funds and the Golden Jubilee main gate of the college built by Vedanta Aluminium.
The land records of the college running over 4.56 acres was handed over to the college authorities free of cost.
Das said, “The district lacks a Government college. I will put this matter before the State Government and try to declare this oldest college of the locality as a Government college. Similarly the women's college matter will be resolved soon.”
Among others, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Vedanta, Jharsuguda, Sunil Gupta and Principal Narendra Kumar Panda spoke.
