In a bid to boost horticulture in Jharkhand, the State Government is giving saplings to the people from its nursery at the lowest rate. The Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Jharkhand has issued information that plants of different species have been kept ready for sale in the departmental nursery. The plants are available from Rs 5 to Rs 15.
In nurseries located in Ranchi, Jamshedpur,Seraikela and Deoghar, people can get normal plants for Rs 5 and big plants and Kalmi trees for Rs 15. The real motive behind selling saplings at cheap rates is also to make people aware of planting trees in and around their homes and making the environment healthy.
The Department’s Deputy Premises Officer, Ashish Thakur informed that the plants of different species are available in the Government nurseries of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Deoghar. “These include Sheesham, Teak, Black Rosewood, Amla, Sal, Sakhua, Banyan, Arjun, Jamun, Asan, Sita, Ashoka, Bahera, Green Semal, Kachnar, Karanj, Dhaura, Mahogany, Lemon, Khair, Wood Almond, Gamkaraya, Kathsagwan, Lissaudha, Gular, Kusum, Kala Siris, Akashneem, Benjamin, Nagkeshar, Bakain, Goldmohar, Kalpataru, Peltophorum, Amaltas, Chhatwan, Harre, Kendra, Shammi, Safed Kachnar, Tamarind, Shivlingi, Macchund, Moulshree, Gamhar, Sidha, Mahua, Cashew, Bell, Sonachal, Chilbil, Putrajeeva, Amda, Kasoi, Bottlebrush, Laxmitaru, Karam, Balmkhira, Kejorina, Meadachal, Roddy, Khatrus, Mithneem. Apart from this, all fruit tree plants, all celestial plants and Kalmi mango are also available,” he added.
Deputy Premises Officer, Kamlesh Kumar Singh said the Forest Department, Government Nursery is located in Ranchi on Ring Road from Tupudana Chowk, 5 km east, in Garhkhatanga and 4 km west of Ormanjhi Chowk or 8 km north of Tagore Hill at Barwe. “For this, one can contact Ashish Thakur on 7766096672 or Santosh Thakur's number 9123236354. One can avail nursery at Gamharia center at Jamshedpur and Seraikela at a distance of 6 kms from Adityapur on the road leading from Adityapur to Kandra.
