Chhattisgarh Police on Saturday seized 25 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 5 lakhs and arrested four persons in Mahasamund district who were transporting it from Odisha to Maharashtra.
Mahasamund Additional Superintendent of Police Megha Tembhurkar told The Pioneer that Lalchand Jewlani (48), Lalchand Aswani (47), Rajendra Tiwari (38) and Shareef Khan (49) have been taken into custody.
The first two are from Maharashtra and the other two are from Madhya Pradesh, she added.
Acting on a tip, the police detained them from a house in Pithora Chowk. The contraband was packed in three leather bags.
