In order to secure the systems of state-of-the-art information technology operating at the State Load Dispatch Center, Jabalpur, controlling the power supply in entire Madhya Pradesh, the Central Government has considered it as a critical and protected system.
This will be provided cyber security in the form of national heritage. National Center for Protection of Important Information Infrastructure, Delhi (NCIIPC) has also issued instructions to get it notified in the Gazette of Madhya Pradesh.
Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has said that after the implementation and approval of this system, now the people of Madhya Pradesh will not have to face any interruption in power supply due to any cyber attack.
The Central Government held 15 meetings with the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC), Mumbai, to recognize the cyber security system developed by the State Load Dispatch Center, Jabalpur. It is after this, that it has been a success.
Chief Engineer of State Load Dispatch Center Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, Eng. KK Prabhakar said that now guidelines will also be given by the Central Government for cyber security of the State Load Dispatch Center in the power sector, in the rules of the Government of India. The Load Dispatch Center will now serve as the heritage of the nation.
The four systems of load dispatch SCADA, Renewal Energy Management System, Unified Real Time Dynamic System and Web based Energy Scheduling System will be restricted by this cyber security system.
After the approval of the Central Government, there will be a dual system of security for the power system of the state. This system is being further protected from cyber attacks with the Honey Pot device. Under the law of the Central Government, if someone makes any attempt to tamper or hack the system of Load Despatch Center through the Internet, then it will be considered as an attack on the security of the nation. Along with this, action will be taken against him under the Information Technology Act.
