Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday ordered the officials concerned to add the names of Gadaipara village ration card beneficiaries in the ration shop of Ghudi village panchayat in Surajpur district.
Baghel was in Kudargarh village in Bhatgaon assembly constituency in the district as a part of his statewide public outreach campaign, an official statement said.
During the ‘Jan Chaupal’, Harilal, a resident of Gadaipara village, told Baghel “a total of 25 families of his area had to trek nearly 16 km via hilly terrain, to reach Kudargarh to get their share of ration from the ration shop.”
“Sometimes, they even have to take another long and difficult route of about 35 km, walking along rocky roads, crossing rivers and streams”, Hiralal further said.
He urged the Chief Minister to connect his village with the nearby Ghudi Gram Panchayat so that they can get ration easily and the villagers do not face any difficulties.
To redress his grievance, Baghel immediately ordered the departmental officials in this regard.
During the Jan Chaupal, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Parliamentary Secretary Paras Nath Rajwade and Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo were also present.
