A five-day capacity building programme for teachers teaching in LKG, organised under the aegis of the Regional Directorate, DAV Institutions, Odisha Zone at DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar here, concluded on Saturday.
More than 49 teachers of LKG from 29 DAV schools participated. Principal of the school Bipin Kumar Sahoo chaired the inaugural meeting and headmistress of DAV Rajabagicha, Cuttack Mousumi Das coordinated and assessed the participants while Academic Supervisor of DAV, Chandrasekharpur, Campus - II Kirtti Rekha Mohanty assisted.
Attending the programme as resource persons, Dr Subhendu Mohanty, Psychiatry, IMS & SUM Hospital and Dr Debadatta Mohapatra, Assistant Professor AIIMS Bhubaneswar discussed how a conducive learning environment can be created inside the classrooms for the mentally retarded children. Similarly, Paediatrician Dr Rajib Ray, SPARSH Hospital and Dr Krushnendu Sundar Sahoo highlighted the important role played by the teachers in the crucial development of the brain during early education period. Apart from this, resource persons also talked about different play way and fun-filled methods that help language learning and other co-scholastic activities by the tender learners.
