Body of missing teenager recovered in Meerut History-sheeter lynched in Ambedkarnagar

The body of a 17-year-old teenager, who was missing for the last 11 days in Meerut, was finally recovered by the police on Sunday afternoon.

The body was found lying behind Harvansh City in TP Nagar police station area. The family has accused the teen's friends of murder.

As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter. The body was also sent for post-mortem.

Reports said that on March 30, the relatives of Rahul (17) had lodged a missing complaint with the TP Nagar police station. Rahul had gone to attend a party with his friends and later he went missing.

The relatives accused the friends of murder. After this, the police detained two friends of Rahul for questioning.

Superintendent of Police (City) Vineet Bhatnagar said that prima facie the reason for the murder was old enmity. He said that at present the police were investigating the incident after registering a case on the basis of complaint.

Deepak, the father of the deceased, told the police that on the night of March 30, friends had called Rahul for a party and after that he did not return home.

Meanwhile, a history-sheeter was lynched in Ambedkarnagar when agitated with the assault on a youth, the people of Gherwa Maroucha village of Baskhari thrashed the listed criminal to death.

The police have registered a case of murder against three named and some unknown persons on the complaint of the brother of the history-sheeter.

Three villagers were also taken into custody for interrogation.

Over a dozen cases of robbery, murder and other crimes were registered against the history-sheeter with Baskhari and other police stations.

Reports said that on Saturday evening, Sandeep Shukla, a resident of Semur Khanpur under Hanswar police station, was going to Gherwa Marocha village with his relative Diwakar Tiwari. History-sheeter Sher Bahadur Yadav of Pipri Maroucha was sitting on the culvert outside the village. It is alleged that he stopped Sandeep and after abusing, started beating him up with a stick.

Sandeep ran towards the village, calling for help. Seeing him injured, the villagers attacked Sher Bahadur with sticks and rods, critically injuring him. He was taken to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Meanwhile, the family members of the history-sheeter also reached the spot and staged a protest.
