Extreme heat was witnessed in the state capital after day temperature touched 44 degree celsius mark hottest day temperature of the season while highest day temperature of the state was 46 degree celsius in Rajgarh, Khargone and Ratlam.
Scorching heat was witnessed on Thursday in the state capital. In the past 24 hours heat wave conditions were witnessed at Dhar, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Khargone, Khandwa and Ratlam districts.
Most of the regions in the state witnessed day temperature over 42 degree celsius on Thursday.
The Met department issued a warning of heat wave conditions in Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Khandwa, Khargone, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind districts.
Due to the cyclone formed in West Bengal, pre-monsoon can hit the state by May 16. After three days, clouds and light drizzle will provide relief in the evening.
Monsoon will be above normal in Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram and Ujjain divisions. It will remain normal in Jabalpur and Sagar divisions.
Light clouds are coming due to the cyclone, weather will change from May 16. The maximum temperature will be around 40 degrees. The temperature will once again rise in the last week of May. It can go up to 44 degrees. After this the heat will not be too intense.
The heat wave phase will end from May 14.
At present, light rain may occur at isolated places in Jabalpur and Singrauli till May 15. After this, light clouds will start coming in the state from May 16. This will mark the beginning of pre-monsoon. Cloudy during the day and light drizzle till late evening.
