The award ceremony by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Sanskriti Parishad, Department of Culture was held on Monday. It was inaugurated by the Culture Minister Usha Thakur at State Museum.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Culture Minister Usha Thakur said that the relentless and earnest practice of all the award winning litterateurs, this award signifies the same thing that a person has spent his whole life experiences and experiences in the creation of that literature in his research work.
Former MP Alok Sanjar, presiding over the program, said that everyone has seen a drop in the ocean, but this creator does the work of seeing the ocean in a drop. At the beginning of the program, Nusrat Mehdi, Director of the Urdu Academy, while giving information about the decoration ceremony said that till now the academy was giving awards to the individual on the basis of his literary services. From the year 2021-22, like other academies of the Department of Culture, Urdu Academy is also starting the process of giving All India and Regional Awards on published books based on various genres related to Urdu.
The purpose of this is to attract the attention of the creators and encourage them to work on the many fading genres of Urdu literature.
This year, six writers are honored with Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy with All India Awards and 12 writers with regional awards.
Mir Taqi Mir Award to Wafa Siddiqui, Hakim Qamrul Hasan Award to Saifi Sironji, Jauhar Qureshi Award to Khalid Mahmood, Shadan Indori Award to Mo Nauman Khan, Ibrahim Yusuf Award to Mehtab Alam, Hamid Saeed Award to Ishrat Naheed.
