The 68th Children’s Day was celebrated on Monday here under the presidentship of “Udayabata” editor Dushmanta Kumar Rout. On the occasion, the national level Ashok Das memorial competitions among junior group students from Class-1 to Class-6 of both Odia and English medium schools were held.
Vyasanagar Municipality Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Rout inaugurated the competitions. Mo College Chairman, former MLA and Odia cine star Akash Das Nayak attended as chief guest and encouraged the tiny students to dream big.
Former Chairman of VNM Rasananda Mohanty, BJD Women Cell Jajpur president Sabita Rout, Forest Range Officer Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra, Central GST Superintendent Sanat Kumar Naskar, Zilla Parishad Member Sisir Kumar Mohanty, Vyasanagar Senior Citizen’s Forum secretary Chandramani Samal, educationalist Sanjay Deo, Chandra Sekhar Nayak, Manas Samal etc attended as guests and encouraged the participants.
Events like drawing, rhymes, fancy dress and dance competitions were performed. Over 100 participants of Jajpur, Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts took part in the competitions and were felicitated. Bidyutprava Ray gave the vote of thanks.
