A hospital under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) at Balaramprasad in Angul and an Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Deputy Regional Office at Jharsuguda were dedicated for welfare of employees by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday.
While Pradhan was physically present at Angul, he virtually participated in the Jharsuguda event.
The 100-bed hospital has come up a in five-acre land at a cost of Rs 65 crore and would benefit at least three lakh people in Angul and Dhenkanal districts. Three more new ESI hospitals and 12 dispensaries would be set up in the State. The ESCI office at Jharsuguda would be of help for two lakh employee insurance holders of 13 districts in western Odisha.
Pradhan termed the setting up two facilities as Raja gifts for Odiaha.
Odisha is a leading State with registration of 1.27 crore labourers in E-Shram Portal of the 27 crore across the country and these facilities are expected to help unorganised labourers in seeking Government benefits.
