Six alleged shooters of Neeraj Singh murder case got respite from Dhanbad court in one case of hiring a room on fake identity for hatching a conspiracy of murdering the former deputy mayor.
The court of first class judicial magistrate Subhash Bara acquitted them from all charges as the prosecution failed to prove the points that were mentioned in an FIR that was filed on 31 March 2017 at Saraidhela police station almost over a week since Neeraj was shot dead by unknown assailants .
Those acquitted accused include Dablu Mishra, Pankaj Singh, Sibu Sagar ,Aman Singh,Chandan Singh, Sonu alias Kurban Ali and Pankaj Singh . The case was filed on the basis of a statement of house owner RA Rai by an ASI of the aforementioned police station.
Advocate Mohammad Jawed while talking to Pioneer said that prosecution failed to prove its point before court .All accused though acquitted in this case but would have to remain the jail as main case under section 302 of IPC is pending against them is under hearing. Not a single witness could be produced before the court by prosecution in five years in this case to prove points raised in the FIR , he said.
This is likely to give some benifit to accused in main case of murder, said Jawed as it indicates that the police concocted theory of murder case to implicate former Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh.
Both Neeraj and Sanjeev happen to be cousins but also were political rivals as they represented different political parties. The then MLA had surrendered in this case after about a week since the murder took place on March 22/ 2017.
