On the concluding day of the three-day National Tribal Dance Festival here on Thursday, artists from Haryana captivated audiences with a pulsating Ghoomar dance.
Ghoomar is a traditional dance form of Haryana. It is a folk dance of Bheel tribe performed during harvest.
Female artists dressed in traditional attire go round and round in circles with exquisite dance movements, while the male artists take the performance forward with their rhythmic claps and joyful singing.
As the performance proceeds, the artists move in pairs at a fast pace, turning round and round, creating a beautiful aesthetic visual. This dance is performed on Holi, Gangaur Puja and other festivals.
Ghoomar is a dance of celebration and joy.
