'Fulltime schooling can end child labour issue'

To mark the the World Day against Child Labour, a mass convention was held on at Satyabhmapur by NGO People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC).

 

Executive director of PECUC Anuradha Mohanty gave the welcome address and shared the purpose of the programme. 

 

Chairperson, NACG EVAC, India and secretary PECUC Rajan Kumar Mohanty in his key note address said strengthening social protection measures along with safe and quality education through fulltime schooling can be the pre-requisite for eradicating child labour. For achieving the desired goal, efforts should be made in all levels, he added. 

 

Joining the convention, ABEO, Balianta Subasini Das said eradication of child labour is possible by bringing all children to school.

 

More than 100 participants including AWW, ASHA, women SHG members of Balianta block participated. Notably, the PECUC had launched a campaign for this purpose on April 30 on the National Anti Child Labour Day.
