Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday called for a proposal to open Folk Art and Culture Colleges in Bastar, Surguja and Raipur. This should be on the lines of the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya at Khairagarh.
He was holding a review meeting of the Tourism and Culture departments here.
The opening of new colleges in Bastar, Surguja and Raipur will help to preserve and promote art and culture. A proposal should also be sent to the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University at Amarkantak to open a centre in Chhattisgarh.
He called for developing facilities from the point of view of tourism in the historical and archaeological heritage places. He sought budget hotels at Satrenga, Gangrel and Chitrakote apart from other tourist spots.
The tourism department motels should also be made operational with private participation, Baghel said.
